Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026 • Compliant with Google AdSense Publisher Policies, GDPR & CCPA
1. Introduction & Core Philosophy
At MetadataRemoves, your privacy is our foundational priority. Unlike traditional cloud photo tools that upload your files to remote servers, MetadataRemoves operates on a 100% client-side, zero-knowledge architecture.
All image parsing, metadata stripping (EXIF, GPS, IPTC, XMP), and canvas resizing operations execute strictly within your local device's web browser memory. Your photos and binary data never leave your computer or phone, and we never have access to them.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
- No Image Uploads: We do not transmit, store, view, or retain any images you select or process.
- No Biometric or Facial Recognition: MetadataRemoves never scans or analyzes faces, objects, or biometric markers.
- No Location Tracking from Photos: When you use our tool, any GPS coordinates extracted by our client-side scanner are presented only to you in your browser session and are purged from memory as soon as you close or refresh the page.
3. Google AdSense, Billing & Third-Party Disclosures
To support our free daily tier (2 images/day for registered accounts), we display third-party advertisements served by Google AdSense. We also offer paid subscriptions and lifetime licenses for users requiring unlimited access. When purchasing a paid plan, payment transactions are securely handled by PCI-DSS compliant third-party payment processors (such as Stripe). We do not collect or store your payment card numbers.
Google AdSense adheres to strict industry guidelines regarding user privacy:
- Third-Party Vendor Cookies: Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites on the internet.
- Advertising Cookies: Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- Personalized Advertising Opt-Out: Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
- For more detailed information on how Google manages advertising data, please review Google's Privacy & Terms at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
4. Cookies & Local Browser Storage
MetadataRemoves itself does not use tracking cookies to identify you. We only utilize standard web browser features:
- Local Session Storage: Temporary memory to manage your active workspace queue during your browser session. This data is cleared when you close the tab.
- Third-Party Ad Cookies: As detailed in Section 3, Google and its advertising partners may place cookies on your browser to measure ad performance and serve relevant ads. You can manage or disable cookie preferences at any time in your browser settings.
5. European GDPR Compliance (General Data Protection Regulation)
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you have rights under the GDPR, including:
- The right to be informed about how data is processed.
- The right to access, rectify, or erase any personal information.
- The right to withdraw consent for advertising cookies at any time.
Because MetadataRemoves never collects, transmits, or holds personal data from your images, your data remains in your custody at all times.
6. California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)
Under the CCPA, California consumers are entitled to specific rights regarding their personal information:
- No Sale of Personal Information: MetadataRemoves does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or photos to any third party.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: You will receive the exact same service and quality regardless of your privacy choices.
7. Children's Online Privacy Protection (COPPA)
MetadataRemoves does not knowingly collect or solicit any personal information from children under the age of 13. Our application is a general-audience image utility designed to preserve privacy for all web users.
8. Updates to this Policy
We may periodically update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our operational practices or legal requirements. Any modifications will be posted directly to this page with an updated revision date.
